I plan my blog topics months in advance. I do this so it gives me time to really sink into each topic. To dive deep so I can understand what will offer you the most benefit. I also plan the days I will start and finish each blog (the wheels of business have gotta keep turning after all. And I’m just ever so slightly OCD, so I do go back over them a few times 😉).
It is interesting that today my blog is about The Importance of Being Grounded. A day that I am so far from grounded that even the simplest things that I can usually do on autopilot are not working. I am unsettled, rattled, out of sorts. Call it what you like. For me it is simply that I am not grounded.
Let me define my idea of being grounded.
It is a calm settling within myself. A knowing that I am exactly where I should be at this very moment. It is an inner understanding. I am acutely aware of my body, my environment and my presence within both. I sit with curiosity not judgement. My mind is quiet. I am in flow.
For all of us, this is our natural state. The place where we are our most inspired and empowered. Where we are enveloped in joy, curiosity, understanding and peace. In this state our minds are at their strongest. There is no clutter. When we are grounded, we are our most effective at creating the life we want and deserve.
Like everything worthwhile, being grounded takes practice and commitment. In this chaotic world where there always seems to be a million and one things that need to be done now, being in flow is something we must consciously yet effortlessly have the ability to come back to.
Although everyone grounds in a different way, there is usually some component of bare feet on Mother Earth. It could be on the grass in your back yard. It might be in the sand at the beach. You might find this flow when you are literally standing on the riverbed with the water flowing around you. What grounds you may change depending on what you need clarity and direction on at a particular time.
For me grounding is mostly bare feet on the sand. Listening to the waves, watching the ebb and flow as Earth does exactly what she was born to do. Ebb and flow.
Other days, actually usually nights, but sometimes before dawn, I am drawn to stand bare foot on the grass, gaze to the sky, scanning the twinkling stars for guidance. It’s always there. Calming me. Guiding me. Bringing me back to me.
Being grounded does not remove the trials and tribulations of life. That is part of the ebb and flow. Being grounded allows you the mental clarity to sink into a deep sense of self, and ebb and flow with these trials and tribulations. When you have a knowing of the true you, the you that feels right to your inner being your full worthiness, being grounded and coming back to you is the most powerful and beautiful gift you can give yourself.
Big hugs
Suz xxx
